Happy New Years Too!
I hope all is well for everyone. I placed everything from 2000 into the link above.
So far everything is great here.
Anyone remember any of those Ski trips at Pisgah. I was one of those who didn't take lessons.
Well, I took my kids Skiing this New Years (or do you call it last since it is past). For them - Lessons!
I remember being black and blue. They did great! Not even a trip to the emergency room.

Greetings everyone!
John--how could you forget a ski trip? Especially the "cheek" fatigue from the bus ride. How many hours--or days? Dad drove several years, & I was fortunate to go. Marc & I skiied last year, the 1st time since school. Must say we did well, but what sore bones! Why can't we stay fearless & acheless? Perhaps that's one reason we call them "the good 'ol days"!!
To each of you--all the best for 2001!

Can't wait to see how OLD you all look at Pisgah this weekend. Here let me cheer you up before we all get depressed at alumni from looking at each other.
Just in case you weren't feeling too old today, this will certainly help:
Each year the staff at Beloit College in Wisconsin puts together a list to
try to give the faculty a sense of the mindset of that year's
incoming freshman. Here is this year's list:
The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in
1982.
They don't remember the Reagan Era and probably did not know he had ever
been shot.
They were prepubescent when the Persian Gulf War was waged.
Black Monday, 1987 is as insignificant to them as the Great Depression.
There has been only one Pope.
They were 11 when the Soviet Union broke apart and do not remember any Cold
War.
They have never feared a Nuclear War.
They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up or Tianamen
Square.
Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.
Atari predates them, as do vinyl albums, so the expression "you sound like a
broken record" means nothing to them.
They have never owned a record player.
They have likely never played Pac Man and have never heard of Pong.
They may have never heard of an 8 track.
The Compact Disc was introduced when they were 1 year old.
As far as they know, stamps have always cost about 33 cents.
They have always had an answering machine.
Most have never seen a TV set with only 13 channels, nor have they seen a
black and white TV.
They have always had cable.
There has always been VCRs, but they have no idea what BETA is.
They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
They were born the year that Walkman's were introduced by Sony.
Roller skating has always meant inline for them.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
They have no idea when or why Jordache jeans were cool.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the Microwave.
They have never seen LarBrian Pollett

Here's the rest.
They have never seen Larry Bird play basketball.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
The Vietnam War is as ancient history to them as is W.W.I, W.W.II and the
Civil War.
They have no idea that Americans were ever held hostage in Iran.
They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J.R. is.
The Titanic was found? They thought we always knew where it was.
Michael Jackson has always looked white.
Kansas, Chicago, Boston, America, and Alabama are actual places, not just
groups.
McDonalds never came in Styrofoam containers.
There has always been MTV.
They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.
Ahh, the memories!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous of any of you who were able to go to alumni. Would have loved to have been there, but guess I'll have to read all about it here on the Wall. So write in soon to give us the goods.

Attention class of 1982 -- our 20th year class reunion is the third weekend in April. Please contact myself or Patti Evans Fouche at Pefgotone@aol.com. If you have addresses, e mails, or phone numbers to any of our classmates, please provide them to myself and/or Patti. Thanks!! I have e mailed eleven classmates and am waiting responses. I do not think everyone has this website about the WALL; however I will try to provide it to everyone so that we can start communicating. This WALL was designed for our class to maintain contact thanks to John Hirst and I believe Lloyd Harder had some input as well.... so thanks to Lloyd too! Lets utilize it. I look forward to hearing from you.Jackie Combs Garrett

Testing...
9 / 18 / 2001
Now isn't that special. You see, I wrote the testing. I've been writing it everyday for the last two weeks but it wouldn't post it. I had been having trouble getting on to the wall of shame. For some reason I am now able to get onto the wall. But do ya know what the real bummer of it is now, I forgot what I was previously going to write. Jackie, if you had anything to do with this...ThanksBrad Senska

OK, this is the REAL Jackie Garrett. Whoever wrote in on 09/19/01 was an imposter Jackie Garrett. But Brad, I do take credit for assisting with your being able to get back on the Wall! But, I haven't a clue what you wanted to post. Be careful what you say, we have imposters. Later...Jackie Combs Garrett
