Hello dear ole friends, I have just finished reading the comments, quite interesting to say the least. This is Pat McLamb Hickman, class of 1982. Hope to attend alumni this year. Would really like to see the old MPA crew.Boy has it been 20 years already? Lloyd thanks for the info. See ya later.

Fell a little behind with the website. Moved all the 2001 entries to their own page.

Fixed the date in the comment box.

The kids keep me pretty busy as a Taxi Cab driver. Although, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Hmmmm imagine the stitches and the hernia had something to do with the updates. We only have 1 more room to see at the emergency room and we will have seen them all. I think we will have racked up enough points to have our next visit free.

*hugs* to all.

Hello Everyone,

Alumni was really great. Good turnout and we had lots of fun. I'll bet Tommy is still eating pizza that was left over. I see that my comment on 04/16 announcing that I was going generated a lot of imposter comments. The comment from Eric Hale is especially a good one. That's a real inside joke that not very many people know anything about so it has me really wondering who the imposter(s) is(are).

Anyway, I really enjoyed myself and getting to see everyone. Thanks to everyone for everything and especially to Jackie for doing such a superb job organizing things.

Now everyone send John your pictures so we can get something up ASAP.

Tchau,

Lloyd

Hey folks,

I just thought I would check in and I have noticed that someone has been posting using my name. Well, I have not posted in this forum in a couple years, so whoever it is, it isn't me. As for the 1980 website that I built for Alumni 2000, it is down and will remain so until 2004, a year before our 25th reunion.

Also, that email address the 'fake' Craig is posting under is not correct either. I have not used that email address in a long time. Anyone needing to reach me can use the email address above. And just so you will know if it is me or not posting in here, I will not be posting in here again until 2004 (if this site is still up). So anyone using my name in this forum between now and 2004 is certainly not me.

If you want to correspond with me, please email me directly.

Thanks!

Wish I could have made it to reunion. I had other commitments that weekend. If someone sends pictures - I can add them to the site.

If you have had difficulty posting here - please try again and let me know if it is any better.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Weekend and are ready for the summer heat!

In 1982....The term "Internet" is used for the first time
and Time Magazine made the Computer - "Man of the Year".

I couldn't send an email home from school to family and friends or call them up on my PCS phone.

We had to get an exception to bring my computer into my dorm room from Dean Wolcott.

Hard drive's cost more than my car, and CD-ROM's were just a dream.
There was probably videodiscs...but the debate for Beta or VHS was still in high swing.
Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Centipede, and Zaxxon were the rage in video games..

Windows was something we stared longingly out during long days in the classroom.

A Palm was not a personal organizer.

I didn't need those things to survive or make some of the neatest friends for life.

Boy, it sure is nice to visit "The Wall" without those Hadley boys telling us how great they are. Especially the one that's professor of Archaeology & History and a consultant for the History Channel. Ahhh. Enjoy the peace!

To "the fake"--whomever you are:
It's unfortunate you seem to get your jollies out of being insensitive & rude at other people's expense---a trait not to be admired. Do you have some major chip on your shoulder for persons from MPA or what? I feel sorry for you--you must have an incredibly low self-esteem if you feel the need to bring others down & use another's name to do so.
Know this site is meant to be entertaining & mostly light-hearted; but I don't think it's intended as a forum to bring persons down & poke insensitive jabs---especially if you don't have the guts to reveal your true self.
This just might be the kind of reaction your are craving, but you really need to grow-up---there's been enough of your immature antics!
I won't play your game of being the coward by not revealing who I am, because I'm standing up for what I believe to be right.
So, let me have it...!!!

Dear Mrs. Anderson:

Color me/us red! I/we want to take this opportunity to apologize and I/we assume complete accountability and ask to beg your pardon, relative to my/our irresponsible actions of entries in the Wall of Shame. Such conduct is not, and never will be, tolerated on this web site. I/we listened carefully to your admonishment and that as fakes we take this charge seriously. Not to make any excuses but, I/we have had several personal issues that have conflicted my/our lives, not the least of which is my/our dealing with the responsibility of being forthright with who I/we really am/are in conjunction with actually being born with chips on both shoulders.

I hope you can forgive me/us for this egregious transgression and that it does not bring further embarrassment upon anyone other than myself/ourselves. I/we am/are totally embarrassed. Especially in light of the fact that Mrs. Anderson, you took so much time to belabor the point that we take this seriously. So, thank you for any and all consideration that you might want to give my heartfelt apology. I/we can only offer my/our full apology and assurance that it will not happen again.

We place great value in your feelings. I/we hope this incident does not create a distance between us.

Yours Sincerely,

NOT! (Hey it’s all part of the fun…laugh a little Mrs. Anderson)

I agree with you Kelly, WELL SAID!!!!!

To the "Fake", "Fakes", You, Them, They:

You have been amusing (at times) & have even brought a chuckle--I'll give you that (is ego-inflation in progress?). But when it's at the expense of some possible ill-feelings, it's not a laughing matter---at least for some of us.

There's probably no curbing your sometimes-insensitive humor, so there's no more point chastising. Will just have to groan & bear it.

Perhaps someday, someone will have YOUR last laugh...
I'll be waiting....

Mrs. A

Bleep

08/05/2002

Hi Everyone, Lloyd here (really). I haven't been here since my post alumni comment on 04/29. I was catching up and reading John's reminiscences on cerca 1982. John, you of course remember our gaming on your dorm room PC. That was literally my introduction to computers which now play such a central role in my personal and professional life.

I want to comment on the imposter(s)...He/She/It/They is/are occasionally ammusing. However, their vehemence and lack of respect and dignity and intolerance is not ammusing. Perhaps if all of us would just ignore them as much as possible they would go away. It is probably impossible to ignore them completely since we have to disclaim statements that they make that are incorrectly attributed to us. But other than that, maybe if we ignore their childish & dysfunctional behavior they will move on. I have no doubt that this entry will earn me a response from him/her/it/them and perhaps some fake posts in my name. So everybody, if anything flaming shows up in my name in the next days or weeks discount it as being from the fakes.

Lloyd

P.S. Another word in English for fake is "travesty". Guess what? In Portuguese the word for "travesty" and "tranvestite" is the same.
